Do you think that at school, your well-being is not only affected by lessons and teachers, bus also by the environment you are in, and by the relationships you create with other students? This is the main consideration that a group of teachers and students made 4 years ago, founding the peer-to-peer organization in our school, with the purpose of creating a better environment for both students and teachers at school.
WHAT IS PARTICULAR ABOUT THIS PROJECT?
The most interesting characteristic of peer-to-peer is that is makes students protagonists: the birth and the development of a small project or idea is completely in their hands, and they have to decide how to organize each role of the team in order to successfully complete a proposition. In each moment of the organization, though, there will always be some adults to help you when you are uncertain about something, or you need help with carrying out your project.
Moreover, another huge benefit of participating in the peer-to-peer is the possibility to create relationships with other pupils, teaching them important values of life (such as solidarity, confidence, joy, and cooperation), and to actively contribute to the well-being of other people and in general the whole school.
A PEEK ON THE PROJECTS WE ARE WORKING ON
Even though we cannot completely reveal our work-in-progresses to improve our school, we can give you a peek on the future ideas we are developing:
- Firstly, in the last few months, we have been involved in sensibilizing students on how, even in a small environment as school, there still can be pollution, and we should not undervalue it. Our project tried to actively teach to S2-S3 students the importance of not wasting, and the impact of trash in the environment. We will also propose this project to
other classes in the months to come.
- Moreover, we are currently preparing a project about the benefits and the risks of internet, that we will bring to primary students and hopefully to other secondary classes in the next months.
The environment at peer-to-peer is quite dynamic, and everyone can make their contribution sharing ideas and help. This is why our projects are still work-in-progress, and we need your help to complete them.
