International day of people with disabilities ( IDPWD )

What’s this all about?

Every 3 of December there is the International Day of People With Disabilities.

About 12% of Word's population has some kind of disability (body, hearing or visual impairment), but many more people have some kind of lighter health difficulties or handicaps, sometimes inborn, and sometimes gotten during the life or after an accident.

The 3rd of December is here to remember those that are less fortunate than many of us.

In every country all across the globe, the IDPWD helps raise awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities.

When we secure the rights of people with disabilities, we move closer to achieving the central promise of the 2030 Agenda – to leave no one behind. António Guterres, UN Secretary-General

Why is this important?

It’s important because people with disabilities are normally treated cruelly and called names, and that is totally unfair, they want to be like the rest, and they are. But people make them feel different, so treat them like you would to your friend, nicely.

What we can do to help?

If you see someone with a disability, don’t bully them or pity them, they just want to be like the rest, and if you see anyone being bother or left apart, then go there and talk to them, who knows ,maybe they are actually nice people and not that different as they may look before.

Good luck out there, all of you!
